Angelo Camilletti, American Sales Manager Southeast Europe says of the news:

“I’m enthusiastic about the introduction of our first direct flight from Bologna Airport to the United States of America. This is an important milestone for American Airlines in Italy. In addition to being the third consecutive year in which American introduces a new route in the Italian market. The world’s largest airline will add this new route from Italy in addition to 10 direct flights to the United States in the 2019 summer season.”

Overall this is part of the plan to expand the American network for the upcoming summer season, designed to meet the passengers’ request, and which includes introducing three new destinations: Italy, Germany and Croatia.

The new seasonal flights will be available from June to September and will be operated by Boeing 767-300 aircraft, offering in Business Class fully reclining seats, Amenity Kit signed by Cole Hann and menus developed by internationally acclaimed Chefs.

“Thanks to the introduction of the only direct connections from North America to Bologna and Dubrovnik, and adding Berlin to our international destinations, American is making it ever easier to visit the world,” notes Visu Raja, Vice President Network and Schedule Planning at American Airlines. “Through our Atlantic Joint Business we have noticed a growing interest in the United States for these markets and, by adapting and expanding our network with these new destinations, we are able to offer an even wider choice to passengers on both sides of the Atlantic.”

Located about 150 km southwest of New York, Philadelphia is the sixth most populous city and one of the oldest in the United States. As the main hub of American Airlines for the East Coast, it can be an excellent stopover to reach a multiplicity of destinations in the USA.
