For Mobility and Transport councillor Andrea Colombo, his top goal at the moment is to get Bologna citizens out of their cars and scooters onto good ole traditional bicycles.
Speaking at Festa dell’ Unità, “Bikes are our priority,” he reported. “In the last four years,” he continued, “the cycle tracks (around the city) have increased by 30% making Bologna the first city to climb above the 10% set nationally for two-wheeled transport. Commenting on public transport regarding the future ‘People Mover’ project, he also added, “Bologna has always been strong on transport over rails. 84 stations out of 87 have so far been completed.”
